The streets of London burn with feverish anticipation, teeming with whispers of an exquisitely scandalous statue of Dionysus now on display at the South Kensington Museum. Donated by an  anonymous patron, a single tantalizing glimpse of this virile manifestation of the Greek God of Wine and Ecstasy is enough to ignite the most restrained desires and intoxicate the most self-denying of sensibilities. The city pulses with heat, as brothels and flagellation houses like The Garden of Hedon swell with lust-drunk bodies, eager to surrender to the forbidden pleasures that now consume every corner of London.

Museum curator, Professor Edmund Cadmore, has urgently enlisted the aid of Hargrave House, disclosing that some notable patrons viewing the statue became crazed, or worse: turned into statues. The prominent victims are all advocates for prosecution of immoral behaviours. In particular, Lord John Campbell of the Queen’s Bench, Lord John Teignmouth and Dr. William Cole of the Society for the Suppression of Vice, Reverend Mother Mary Agnes and the sisters of the Sacred Heart of Mercy Asylum for Hysterical and Nymphomanic Women all had been found turned to marble; frozen in the throes of depraved sexual acts. The details of the horrendous deaths and their connection to the Museum have been suppressed for the sake of reputation, and Scotland Yard has been advised to tread carefully.
