The Annual Symposium for Anomalous Research is not a paranormal convention. It is a serious scientific conference dedicated to the study of phenomena conventional science has failed to explain.

During ASAR's annual Anomalous Object Exhibition, the lights go out for ten seconds.

There were thirty-six exhibits before the blackout.

Now there are thirty-seven.

No one remembers bringing Exhibit 37. It isn't in the catalogue. Its owner is listed as unknown. And as the symposium's Volunteers investigate where it came from, they begin finding evidence that perhaps Exhibit 37 isn't as new as everyone remembers.

Exhibit 37 is a standalone, one-shot Carved from Brindlewood mystery of paranormal investigation and dry institutional comedy. Players create ASAR Volunteers with their own reasons for attending the symposium, questionable areas of expertise, conference badge ribbons, and complimentary ASAR-branded fanny packs.

The mystery includes everything needed to play, including streamlined Carved from Brindlewood rules, character creation, six Volunteer Drives, locations, side characters, Moments, 20 Clues, and a special reward that allows Exhibit 37 to inexplicably appear in future Carved from Brindlewood games.
